Pipe Fitter
Job duties include:
- assembling and installing piping
- cutting or drilling holes to permit passage of pipes, using pneumatic drill
- selecting specified type and size of pipe
- mounting pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe
- installing valves, couplings, and other fittings
- disassembling and removing damaged or worn pipe
- performing other related duties as assigned
Required experience:
- Previous pipe-fitting experience
- Good communication skills
- Commitment to workplace safety
- Minimum secondary school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or education is considered an asset.
Construction Site Supervisor
Job duties include:
- planning, organizing, coordinating, assigning work to subordinate employees
- recommending hiring, termination, discipline, and evaluating the work of subordinate employees
- providing training and counseling of subordinate employees
- ensuring that proper safety standards and precautions are followed
- supervising and participating in building and facilities construction, renovation and remodeling
- assures adequate supplies materials and equipment are available to crew
- prepares and maintaining records for weekly and monthly reports
- preparing time records for payroll purposes
- inspecting completed work and assuring that work is completed properly
- ensuring that equipment is in proper working order, overseeing preventive maintenance on equipment, and recommending equipment purchases
- prepares cost estimates on proposed projects
- Performs related duties as needed or assigned.
Required experience:
- Minimum secondary school diploma or equivalent, and experience in industrial construction with supervisory experience
- Thorough knowledge of practices, methods, equipment and techniques pertaining to building and industrial construction and renovation, and tools and equipment associated with the building construction trades
- Thorough knowledge of and commitment to safety standards related to building and facilities construction and renovation and the use of industrial equipment and tools.
